Coming out of hibernation

As we come out of hibernation and look forward with energy and hope, it’s time to get your springtime self into the organised groove!

The daffodils are here and turning their glorious golden trumpets to the sun, you can hear the hum of lawnmowers on the cool air, and the sense of anticipation for Easter chocolates and lambs in the fields fills you with joy. Finally, it is spring, and we’re shrugging off the cloak of winter and eagerly embracing all that the next few months ahead have in store.

So, what’s on your post-hibernation to-do list?

Glorious gardens

This is the time of year to poke your toe out and think, ‘ooh, it’s rather lovely’. Unfortunately, your garden may be looking a little forlorn from the lack of love. But in moments, it can be awash with colour and spectacle. You can quickly remember that it’s your haven and perfect entertaining zone. While the lawn is still damp, spring is the ideal time for your patio or decking to be the centre of attention. Now is the perfect time to consider a new pergola, cabin or garden retreat.

Turn up the sunshine

The air is lovely but crisp, and you just can’t wait until summer. There are plenty of incredible holiday destinations for spring and Easter breaks that will fast-forward your summer. It’s been a long winter, so spoil you! Destinations that are perfect for a getaway at this time of year include Spain and Tenerife, Dubai, Mexico, Antigua and Seychelles. Get that break booked!

Get egg-cited for Easter

In springtime, we get Easter, and what a wonderful celebration it is! But there is so much to do to enjoy a wonderful Easter with family. Whether you want to grab a last-minute Easter skiing trip or plan to stay home with activities like dying eggs and baking, Easter demands your attention. Easter is an excellent opportunity to indulge in home décor. You can decorate your home simply with garlands, displays and flowers. Little ones will love making decorations for an Easter tree.

Don’t forget that Easter is a wonderful time to shower loved ones with treats.

  • Choose adorable non-chocolate Easter gifts for children such as wooden farmyard animals or spring-themed outfits.
  • Buy the garden-lovers who are springing back into life some bee bombs, or maybe some personalised gloves or a trug?
  • Don’t scrimp on chocolate, and consider sending the extra special people a fabulous Easter hamper packed with delicious treats.

Plan the summer’s events

Before you know it, it’ll be BBQ season, and you’ll be chasing your tail to plan birthdays, garden parties and all the get-togethers you’ve missed over the last few years. So it’s time to start pencilling dates in the diary, considering the parties you want to host this summer and start the ball rolling with pinning down suppliers who are also coming out of hibernation!

Spruce up your nest!

From organising a comprehensive spring clean to embarking on some new renovation and redecoration projects, spring is the time to embrace a fresh change. With the winter months of hunkering down behind you, it’s time to get your home ship shape with a revitalised feel.
